Upon his arrival, Mister Rogers steps outside and returns with a cat named Jimmy. He recalls a time when Jimmy visited the Neighborhood program as a kitten. After singing Everybody Has a History, Mister Rogers shows a book of baby pictures and talks about a person's history being part of their growing.

Mr. McFeely arrives to pick up Jimmy and leaves Mister Rogers with a pot of flowers -- a special delivery for his best customers. In the kitchen, Mister Rogers waters the seed he planted the previous day.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Elaine calls Purple Panda with a "purple light emergency" and he shows up immediately. Everyone gathers at the castle just as the big thing rolls into the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. King Friday calls in his troops -- Miss Paulificate and Handyman Negri -- for protection as Neighbor Aber, Mayor Maggie, and Purple Panda approach the big thing in an attempt to communicate. As soon as they mentioned "peace and passing on," the big thing shows a slight reaction.

Back at the house, Mister Rogers plays a quick game by removing pieces of the Neighborhood model on the table and having viewers guess which one is missing. After putting away the rest of the models, he goes back to the book of baby pictures and shows that the babies have grown into adults.

Mister Rogers sings You're Growing before he is visited by Eva Kwong and her daughter Una who reads from the book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
