Daniel Tiger is at the crayon factory where he and his friends are encouraged by Lady Elaine Fairchilde to explore. Each of Daniel's friends gets to make their own crayon box, but the assembly machine runs out of cardboard and Daniel becomes angry. Mom Tiger reminds Daniel of a way to manage his anger: "When you feel so mad that you want to roar, take a deep breath and count to four." When Lady Elaine adds more cardboard to the machine, Daniel is able to make his box.

Before everyone leaves the factory, Lady Elaine reveals a new crayon -- a swirly whirly rainbox crayon! On the way home, Daniel make-believes that his rainbow crayon can make anything turn to rainbow colors.

Back at home, Daniel is angry when Margaret breaks his new crayon. Mom Tiger reminds Daniel how to calm down and then explains to him that the broken crayon can still be used for drawing.
