Daniel Tiger is helping his mom by watering her sunflowers and feeding the family's pet fish. Mom Tiger reminds Daniel that everyone in the family has important jobs to do.

On the way to the library, Daniel and his mom observe others in the Neighborhood doing their jobs. Stopping at the bakery, Baker Aker is working hard to provide bread for his neighbors. Daniel make-believes that he is trying all of the jobs in the Neighborhood.

At the library, Daniel and Mom Tiger arrive just as X the Owl is locking the door. X is feeling sick and needs to go see Dr. Anna. Daniel and his mom offer to help at the library while he is gone.

After closing time, Daniel and his mom go to Doctor Anna's office where they recognize her important job before sharing a book with X.
