In January 1990, Life magazine published a special issue -- "The Year '89 in Pictures." Among the articles reflecting over the previous year was "Mr. Bush's Neighborhood," an piece focused on the many social issues faced by the United States during the early tenure of President George H.W. Bush.

The November 1992 issue featured a lengthy article about Fred Rogers and his career working with children -- "The Good Life -- and Works -- of Mister Rogers."
