Misterogers (CBC, 3/5/1964)

Network: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Air Date: March 5, 1964

Mister Rogers pretends that it is nighttime and uses a flashlight to find his television friends.

It is nighttime in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, as well. Mr. Anybody is dressed as a knight in full armor. Outside the castle, he sings A Knight at Night before setting out in search of a dragon.

At the Eiffel Tower, Mr. Anybody stops to sing La Nuit with Grandpere before moving on to the museum. In Mrs. Frogg's index file, he finds that dragons are very rare so he knows that finding one will be difficult.

Remembering that owls stay up late, Mr. Anybody stops at the oak tree where X the Owl pretends to be a dragon while Henrietta Pussycat acts as the "lady in the tall hat who's afraid of [the dragon]." Mr. Anybody pretends to slay the "dragon" and saves the damsel in distress. In celebration, he sings A Knight at Night. Meanwhile, X the Owl raises his head occasionally to remind young viewers that the dragon slaying was only pretend: "I'm okay. Don't worry about me."

Back at the house, Mister Rogers concludes by singing Tomorrow.
