Misterogers (CBC, 1/24/1964)

Network: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Air Date: January 24, 1964

Mister Rogers has two week-old ducklings with him and invites viewers to call them whatever they’d like.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Dr. Frogg and his nurse, Mrs. Farmer, are reviewing the list of patients they have seen today. Together they make a “castle call” to see their final patient — King Friday XIII.

Dr. Frogg is frustrated to discover that King Friday does not have an ailment but simply made the appointment so he could meet Dr. Frogg’s new nurse. Adding to the annoyance, King Friday presents Mrs. Farmer with a storybook and asks her to sing the story of “Princess Ella.” Following the story, King Friday invites them to join him for tea in the castle’s T Room — an invitation which Dr. Frogg declines.

Back at the house, Mister Rogers concludes by singing Goodnight God.

Notes

According to King Friday, in order to find the T Room from the front of the castle, one must “go around the castle twice, come in the West rear entrance, go to the East corridor to the purple carpet” and “the T Room is just beyond the S Room.”
