Misterogers (CBC, 12/6/1963)

Network: Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Air Date: December 6, 1963

Mister Rogers shares a model car with a rumble seat in the back. When he attempts to place his pet frog inside the car, it resists and hops away.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mrs. Frogg is at the castle talking with Captain Blye about King Friday and the castle garden. At the request of Mrs. Frogg, Captain Blye sings Today is New. As their conversation continues, Captain Blye learns that Mrs. Frogg was once a librarian ("Froggy Decimal System, and all").

King Friday XIII comes outside with his pet bird, Mimus Pollyglottos, and is introduced to Mrs. Frogg. Together with Captain Blye, King Friday sings Mimus Pollyglottos is My Pet / Walking Mocking. King Friday give his permission for the new musuem to be built in Make-Believe under two conditions -- 1. It must be completed by his approaching birthday, and 2. He must be able to get to the musuem from the castle without walking around the trolley tracks or through the underpass.

Challenged by these instructions from the king, Captain Blye seeks the input of Cornflake S. Pecially. Corney suggests that a bridge be built to over the top of it all.

Returning to the castle to take measurements for a bridge, Captain Blye is approached by Lady Elaine Fairchilde who has a special treat planned for King Friday's birthday. She plans to present a musical -- "Butterfly, Butterfly, What Can I Say?" -- which she and King Friday once performed together. She sings a song from the musical -- Kindhearted Butterfly -- as she prepares for what she refers to as a "Festival For Friday."

Notes

When King Friday meets Mrs. Frogg, he learns that her name is spelled with two G's and proceeds to pronounce both G's when he addresses his new acquaintance -- "Mrs. Frog-g."
