In 1989, hip-hop icon Big Daddy Kane released the album It's a Big Daddy Thing.

This album features a track titled Children R the Future which includes the following lyric:

I said listen up, listen up, listen up youngster
Learn from a lesson that the Big Daddy brung ya
It's nothin but knowledge, I shall bring to you
And I'm not Mister Rogers or Captain Kangaroo, but I know
But I know...children, children...are the future...
