Daniel Tiger is playing farmer while Margaret pretends to be a cow. After he builds a fence around Margaret to keep the cows contained, he becomes angry when she knocks down what he has built. Mom Tiger intervenes before Daniel is able to hit his sister: "Stop, stop, stop. It's okay to feel angry. It's not, not, not okay to hurt someone."

As he continues to play, Daniel pretends that both the horse and cow want to eat the lone carrot. Using the strategy he has learned from his mother, Daniel helps the animals to resolve their conflict by sharing.

In the bathroom sink, Daniel gives his animals a bath as he make-believes that he is giving real animals a great big bubble bath. When Daniel is called for lunch, he wants to keep playing and has to stop himself before his anger escalates.

Strategy

  • "Stop, stop, stop. It's okay to feel angry. It's not, not, not okay to hurt someone."
