Description

Music can be a wonderful way to communicate whatever you're feeling. Everyone has music inside, and each of us expresses it differently. In this program, Mister Rogers visits with world-famous cellist Yo Yo Ma, who shares his musical gifts and shows how he used music to express a wide range of his feelings.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday has declared that the music festival will be a bass violin festival. The only trouble is that nobody -- except the King -- knows how to play the bass violin! Lady Aberlin discovers that she has another artistic way to express herself , one that is just as musical...and within the King's guidelines.

By introducing us to people who enjoy making music for others, Mister Rogers helps us to find the music in ourselves. And whether we play an instrument or dance or just listen, we can all share the healthy feelings music can offer.

This episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood features:

  • A behind the scenes visit to a bass violin factory
  • A musical duet by Yo Yo Ma and Joe Negri
  • Creative ideas for King Friday's bass violin festival

Mister Rogers' universal message of love and self-esteem has brought joy and education to children around the world for more than 25 years. CBS/FOX Video is proud to bring some of the best episodes of MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD into your home.

Running Time: Approx. 28 Minutes.
