Description

Children can often manage difficult experiences, such as going to the doctor, when they know what to expect. Mister Rogers visits neighborhood pediatrician Dr. Jane Breck while she gives a checkup toa young girl. Mister Rogers lets children know that doctors care about them and want to help them be healthy.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Betty Templeton and James Michael Jones adopt a baby girl. Dr. Bill Platypus gives the baby a checkup, and King Friday gives her a royal gift. Feeling loved is the most important part of growing up healthy.

In his reassuring way, Mister Rogers offers warm and caring discussions that can help children talk about their concerns and make upsetting experiences more manageable for them.
