Hischer Booptrunk is a ventriloquist dummy owned by Mister Rogers. Hischer is brought to the house several times to help Mister Rogers discuss topics with viewers and demonstrate Hischer's controls.

Hischer Booptrunk has also appeared in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe having just come from a castle meeting.[1]

 

 


Hischer Booptrunk's Name and Background

Hischer Booptrunk is a ventriloquist dummy that Fred Rogers has owned since he was ten years old.[2] Originally named Elmer, Fred Rogers changed his name to Hischer Booptrunk at the suggestion of a young girl.
