Misterogers (CBC, 12/20/1963)

Mister Rogers shows two model house as he talks with viewers about moving. He mentions that the Frogg family will be moving the Neighborhood of Make-Believe today and sings Today is a Special Day.

In Make-Believe, Mr. Farmer is preparing a variety of gifts from others in the neighborhood as a way of welcoming the Frogg family. King Friday XIII suggests that Mrs. Frogg, a librarian by trade, might be able to help with the new museum. Mr. Farmer thinks they should do something for Mrs. Frogg first and King Friday agrees to provide a gift of his own.

Mr. Farmer sings Today is a Special Day as he moves on to the clock where Daniel Striped Tiger thinks he might bring some soup to the Froggs. Showing appreciation for the times he's been shown kindness, Daniel sings I'm Very Grateful. X the Owl shares the gift he has prepared -- a pillow made from two leaves sewn together and stuffed with is feathers.

Returning to the castle, Mr. Farmer finds that King Friday has prepared a large statue of himself to present as a gift to the Frogg family. As they arrive at their new home, everyone welcomes them by singing Won't You Be My Neighbor.


Notes

King Friday uses the terms "familia rana" (frog family) and "ranunculus" (small frog).
