Adventureland

In the 2009 comedy-drama Adventureland, it is 1987 and James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg) has just finished high school. His plans to leave the Pittsburgh area and attend an Ivy League school fall through when his parents hit an unexepected financial loss. Spending his summer working at the local amuesment park James was home one evening having dinner with his parents:

MRS. BRENNAN: James, I read that Pitt has some journalism courses.

MR. BRENNAN: Is that so?

JAMES: Oh, yeah?

MRS. BRENNAN: Yeah, I was just thinking that, you know, it might make fiscal sesne for you to stay close to home for a while. And they have these broadcasting internships on Mister Rogers.

JAMES: I get to intern on a kids' show with marionettes? Mom, I thought you wanted me to go to an Ivy League school, like the one I've been accepted to.

MRS. BRENNAN: I am just trying to be pragmatic.

MR. BRENNAN: They're hand puppets, not marionettes, on Mister Rogers. You know, like, "Royal greetings. I am King Friday."

JAMES: That's a terrible impression.
