Trolley seems to have different ways to protect itself from the rain. In episode 1510, it had awnings on each end, and now it had an umbrella. The only time it wasn't protected was that dance episode when it was raining in both neighborhood.

That's very interesting.  I honestly hadn't paid attention to that before, but I'm going to take a closer look now.  Also, in regards to this episode (1648), note that Fred addresses David Newell as "David" instead of "Mr. McFeely".

Well, sometimes Mister Rogers calls Mr. McFeely David, on account that's not only the actors' name, but I guess his character is called David McFeely. Mrs. McFeely usually calls her husband David.

You're exactly right. There are several instances, especially in the episodes from the 1970's, where Mrs. McFeely addresses her husband as "David."
