I think you should say:

1126-1130: Unknown, but  most likely Sept. 4-8, 1989

Could you make these corrections and do the same for post-75s?

But those are all basically confirmed, and there are no other times they could have aired.  So I'm not going to change that.

That's not entirely true. Although chances are slim, the post-75 run could have started Sept. 4, 11, or 18, or Oct. 2, in which case any or all of 1126 - 1140 could have aired April 2 - 20 (or March 26 - April 13, since The Environment's debut date is confirmed), and 1141 - 1145 Sept. 25 - 29, so please change it but mention that the ones you listed are most likely to be correct, even 99.99999999% sure if you like.

Quotedo the same for post-75s?

For the purposes of this board, I think those airdates are confirmed enough.  It's not like this is a trial where someone's life is at stake if an airdate is wrong.

Okay then, I understand, and leave them the way they are.

I wish there were more recordings of any of these episodes by individual people and they weren't shy to privately share them. I love the post-75 episodes alot, but the pre-79 episodes are great, too. Especially John Costa's outro music. Sadly, it's highly unlikely that anyone has 1036-1040, 1051-1060 or 1071-1075 since they're banned.

I always thought it was unfair that 1441-1445 stopped airing in 1988 and not 1993 or 1994 like some of the other 1975 episodes did. Though i guess PBS skipped it so that 1446-1455 wouldn't be interupted, since Rogers mentions King Friday's birthday in 1451, and to make sure the debuts of Learning, Then & Now and Going Away & Coming Back wouldn't leak into Labor Week, since it was important that School, Josephine The Short-Neck Giraffe and Learning all air at the start of the schoolyear.

I wonder how Rogers felt about certain episodes' last airings, especially 1441-1445? I know Betty Aberlin said she took it hard, especially when Conflict was banned in 1996 because she really loved those episodes. Though i wonder about other cast members, such as David Newell or Audrey Roth? Or even Mary Rawson, who first appears in 1129? (is Mary still aliove btw? i hope so.)

I dunno all the post-75 weeks' last-airings, but i seem to remember Love last airing April 27-May 1, 2009. It could just be the PBS station that i saw it on, but i know for sure it was that date and not what was said on the sceduele theories thread because April 27, when 1661 aired, was my dad's birthday and i remember getting sick on April 29-some time in early May and the Love week was airing on TV then. Also, at the time it last-aired, it was no longer airing on Valentine's Week.

Another post-75 airing i vaguley remember that was no longer annual occasion was Giving & Recieving. I don't remember the exact week, but it certainly did not last air on Christmas Week. It last aired some time in the summer of 2009 (it had to be, because the full week aired), i just can't remember the exact week. Does anyone remember seeing Love and Giving & Recieving last-airing on another week other than their annual occasion weeks?

And of course, we know Conflict last aired on April 1-5, 1996. It's the only post-75 that didn't air in the 2000's because of it's war-theme. And interestingly, like Giving & Recieving, it's a 21-25 week. Speaking of 21-25 weeks, do we know when fellow 21-25 week Fathers & Music last aired? I know it was briefly an annual occasion week for Father's Day in 2004 and 2005, but not in 2006-whenever it last-aired.

mitsguy2001

I did compile a list of last post-75 airings, but I guess I never posted it.  I'll post it when I get a chance, maybe this weekend.  It is based only on the Mon-Fri airings, which ended in 2009.  I also don't know definitively what aired Aug. 31 - Sept. 4, 2009; I have a feeling that week may have been scheduled locally, so my list ended with Aug. 28, 2009.  I do not have a list of Saturday episodes, since nobody has ever posted that.  If people remember other than what was on the schedule, then it means that some PBS stations may have scheduled episodes locally.  I think that was especially common in the early days.  The Paley Center in NYC (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio) has 1101 allegedly recorded on Oct. 25, 1971.  I trust that date is correct, but we've never come up with any plausible schedule that would have 1101 airing that date nationally.

What I do know is that Dress Up was the first post-75 other than Conflict to have had its last airing.  I wonder why.

Didn't Things To Wear also stop airing shortly after? I seem to vaguley remember that week last aired in October. I don't think there's anything mysterious about Dress-Up ending early, other than the fact it was a slightly unusual week (different sweaters, a school play, the only post-75 week to feature the song I'm A Chef, ect.).

The other strange thing is that some of the lastest weeks in the series also stopped airing early, and they were only about 10 or 11, maybe 8 or 9 years old. I remember Be Yourself: That's The Best stopped airing around New Year's week 2008. I never got a chance to see that "Prince Tuesday gets hurt" episode (referring to 1718) and always wondering what it was like until i saw it on YouTube in 2011.

By the way, I updated the first post to add the last airdates of the black and white weeks.  We do not know what aired May 25-29, 1970.  Also, there is one mystery week in between the 1971 and 1972 seasons, but I assumed that a color episode aired that week.  We also do not know when 1-5 last aired, since it did not rerun in 1969 or 1970.  One week had to have been skipped in betewen the 1968 and 1969 seasons, so that was most likely the one.

The difference is that Dress Up is the only week to have its last airing during the 2005-06 season, meaning it was skipped 3 seasons in a row.  Things to Wear did last air in October 2006 as you said, but there were a few other weeks besides that one which last aired in the 2006-07 season.

QuoteThe other strange thing is that some of the lastest weeks in the series also stopped airing early, and they were only about 10 or 11, maybe 8 or 9 years old. Interesting that both 1997 weeks last aired close to each other. And they have both aired for 10 years.

I edited the original post based on the January 1984 schedule that Tim posted.
