Adding a message board and changing the way discussion is done on the Neighborhood Archive is a HUGE step! I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about these changes...

I think this is a great idea.  In terms of ideas for topic headings:  maybe a separate section for Operas.  That way it's all in one spot.  Usually operas get a lot of discussion.

I totally agree, Mike. But I'd like to keep this at a minimum (operas included in the "Episodes" section) for now. If this message board takes off as I hope it will, an opera section will definitely be added.

Also you might want to add topic headings for Children's Corner, CBC Misterrogers.

Good call. Consider it done.

Excellent job Tim.  Was gonna make mention of that a while ago.   :)

As much as I like the message boards, I'm really finding that I miss the ability to comment about blog posts, specifically about the episode descriptions. Is there a way to add a comment to individual episode entries? It wouldn't need to necessarily be in blog format, in fact it might be nice when someone pulls up an episode in the blog to be able to read all of the comments that people have had over the months/years about that episode.

I know what you mean, Eric. While the discussion has been great here on the message board so far, the amount about specific episodes has definitely decreased since switching over.

Starting or contributing to discussion on new episodes added to the Archive is still just as easy as before. My thought is that a reader would visit the site and see a new update -- Episode 1633 for example. Then after reading the description, rather than return to the blog to make a comment as they would have before, they would go to the message board instead. The board is one click away from any page on the Archive site in the links at the top of each page. It should even open in a new window so the Archive page being commented on stays open for the reader to refer back to. On the board, the reader in this case would go to the Episodes section and look to see if a thread called "Episode 1633 - Growing" had already been started. If so...they could comment. If not, they could very quickly start the new topic and make their comment.

As for links directly from the Archive pages to the discussions. That's not a bad idea. Let me see what I can come up with.

Can I post pics? I have a few pics of my puppest/trolly and other MR trivia.

If you can host the images independently, you're more than welcome to share images using the "Insert Image" button above. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources available for anything and everything to be shared via the server hosting the Archive site and this forum.

If you can host your images elsewhere, just use the Insert Image button and paste in the URL of the image you want to share.
