The laser pointer is back (1696, from 1996)

This week, misterrogers.org is showing the first week from 1996. And they're showing the original laser pointer version of 1696. No doubt with laser pointers much more common 26 years later, there was no longer any point in using the alternate version. And as it happens, the original version does include a caution about not pointing it at anybody's eyes (as it happens, there are laws against directing laser pointers at aircraft at night, because of the risk of even temporarily blinding a pilot).
