Prior to 1968, there was The Children's Corner, the CBC show, the WTAE show and the EEN show.  From reading the threads, it seems the CBC and EEN shows must exist nearly entirely.  Does the WTAE show still exist?  How many episodes of Children's Corner were preserved?

New poster here, but a long-time fan of the Neighborhood -- I began watching in the fall of 1967, before the national premiere, over Maine Educational Television, which was a part of EEN. I believe what I saw then was the only rerun of the pre-1968 episodes, and I've been wondering for years what, if anything, of those episodes survives -- I've never seen them excerpted in any of the latter-day documentaries, and all I really know of them is what I remember from over fifty years ago.

I was four years old at the time, so I don't remember individual episodes, but I do remember that the layout of the house was much different from what it became later on, and that Mister Rogers would often open the top part of the "Dutch door" to talk to someone standing outside without having them actually come in. What I can't remember is if this was an adult neighbor, a costumed character, or a puppet. That same door was used in the set for the living room after the layout was changed -- you can still see the latch -- but in looking at the 1968 shows on YouTube and elsewhere, I never see Mister Rogers ever opening just the top part. So what I'm remembering has to be these pre-1968 shows.

As I say, I only saw these episodes once -- they were never rerun again after the NET shows began -- and all I retain of them is bits and pieces and impressions. But I would very much like to see them again, or at least know for sure what it is that I'm remembering. As you get older you learn not to trust what you think you remember...

If anybody knows for certain what the status of these shows is, or if anyone has actually seen then, I'd be interested in knowing if my memories square with what's there.
