Why does it say lost episodes?

I remember these episodes. I was less than 2 years old when it says they first aired which means I must have seen the reruns later on. Why would it say they are lost?

That week has not been broadcast on PBS since week of April 1-5 1996. Sadly those were pulled from the regular rotation for keeps! Week only exist thru old tapes from whomever
happens to have them, quality is abit rough thou!

That article erroneously said that Conflict only aired once.  It actually aired every year, until its final airing April 1-5, 1996.
