This bit of news is kind of Mr. Rogers related and kind of not:
Blue's Clues, the first show created by Angela Santamero and her team (the people that also created DTN)  is getting a remake and/or continuation sometime this year.  Angela has said in many different places that many things on Blue's Clues were inspired by MRN, such as the fact that skidooing (a moment where the characters jump into another world inside a painting, book, etc) was inspired by Trolley,  and that the way Steve/Joe talked to the camera and interacted as if it was ONE child was inspired by how Fred did the same (https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2018/02/21/admired-mr-rogers-mentor-afar-now-im-walking-his-sneakers-column/351804002/ ; 7th paragraph)
And here's a momento from Fred for Angela:

And finally, here is the announcement of the continuation of Blue's Clues:

To say I am excited is an understatement.  While I grew up watching MRN and Sesame Street, there was something about Blue's Clues that caught me when it was first announced, and I watched it when I was 12--by myself, unironically.  When I fell for the concept, I proceded to watch every. Single. Episode. on the day they aired.  (No, I'm not kidding.  The two shows I watched religiously for kids were MRN--at the "proper" age ;),-- and Blue's Clues.)  So you can BET I'll be watching this.  :)
