January - August 1984 Schedule

Thank you, Tim, for posting the January - August 1984 schedule, which was in is Plan and Play book.

It has some surprises.  We knew that Dec. 30, 1983 was 1020.  So, not surprisingly, Jan. 2 - 13, 1984 was 1021-1030.

The first surprise is that Jan. 16-20 was 1061-1065!  I wonder why that week aired, when none of 1031-1060 aired.  I wonder if jumping from 1030 to 1066 would have caused any continuity issues.  I don't think so.  I do know that Francois really liked 1065, so maybe it had something to do with that.  But Betty said she really liked 1041, and that didn't save that week.

Jan. 23-27 was 1066-1070, and Jan. 30 - Feb. 17 was 1076-1090.  No surprises there.

But the biggest surprise of all is that 1091-1095 was skipped!!  That is very surprising, since that week aired in 1986 and 1989, and there was seemingly no reason to skip it.

Tim: does your Plan and Play book from that year include 1091-1095?  I wonder if perhaps that week was edited sometime between 1984 and 1986.  Did that week appear to have any edits?  Or anything that may have kept it from airing in 1984?

Feb. 20 - Mar. 30 was 1096-1125.  That means that 1101 aired on Feb. 27 and 1117 aired on Mar. 20, as we had always suspected!!  It also means that my memory of it snowing when I saw 1125 that year is correct!

April 2-6 of course was Work.  And April 9 - 27 was 1126-1140.

The next surprise is that for April 30- May 4, they jumped all the way to 1196-1200!  Since May 7-11 was Grandparents, it does make sense that they didn't want a break between 1141 and 1165, since it would interrupt the plot where the Platypuses when to Australia.  But I wonder why they jumped all the way to 1196-1200, rather than something from the 1971 season.

May 14 - July 27 had no real surprises, since it was 1141-1195.  And since 1196-1200 had already aired, July 30 - Aug. 10 was 1201-1210.  Aug. 13-17 was Starting to School.  And Aug. 20-31 was 1211-1220, which fits with 1221 airing on Sept. 3, which we had already known.

Any ideas why 1091-1095 was skipped?

We now know everything back to Oct. 31, 1983.  And Oct.24-28, 1983 was almost certainly Superheroes.
