|THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers|
Being kind means responding to the needs of others. People can be kind -- no matter how old or how young they are. When people are unkind, they can make others feel bad inside. Everyone has feelings, and we all want people to be kind to us.
In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Prince Tuesday gets a new teacher -- Broadway star Tommy Tune -- who teaches King Friday a lesson in generosity and politeness.
It doesn't matter what a person is like on the outside, kindness comes from the inside. Mister Rogers helps children know that when they're kind to others, they'll discover something fine inside themselves.
