|THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers|
The circus is a fascinating place, full of interesting people with unusual talents. Mister Rogers helps children know that circus performers enjoy entertaining others and that they practice a lot to be able to do their work well. Many things in the circus are fun, but some things can be scary.
In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Aberlin and Chuckles the Clown help Daniel Tiger with his fear of clowns and costumes. Nancy Caterpillar realizes that she is beautiful just the way she is, both before and after she becomes a butterfly. Change is part of growing, and children can have many feelings about changes.
Mister Roges and Betty Aberlin visit the Big Top. There they meet trapeze acrobats, elephants and real-live tigers. They even go backstage to watch the clowns put on their makeup. There are so many things to see and do at the circus; it's a neighborhood all its own.
