Saturday Night LiveA 1984 sketch from NBC's Saturday Night Live features Eddie Murphy as Mister Robinson who arrives in a Santa suit. The suit, he says, helps keep him disguised as he tries to avoid Mr. Landlord who has given him an eviction notice. Inside his apartment, Mister Robinson explains that he uses a Salvation Army bucket and bell to scam people out of money and also replaces the head on a baby doll with a head of cabbage (Of course, the result is a "cabbage patch doll"). Sharing the word of the day, "X-Mas," Mister Robinson shares two other words that start with X -- "X-Con" and "X-Scape." His visit concludes as he slips out the window to avoid an angry parent of a child who was given a "cabbage patch doll."
