THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers

In Living Color

In Episode 19 of the fourth season of FOX's In Living Color, Jim Carey plays the part of Mister Rogers as he visits a video rental store.

In this sketch, "Mister Rogers" is approached by several store employees and patrons -- all eager to talk with the man they grew up watching on television. Much to their surprise, "Mister Rogers" responds in a manner that certainly does not reflect the true values of the Neighborhood.

The end of the sketch reveals that the character played by Jim Carey was only a person pretending to be Mister Rogers in order to gain the attention and good favor of others.
