Episode 1592 - A Question for BKA
« on: May 09, 2012, 07:51:17 PM »
Question for Betty Aberlin about episode 1592 - did you actually work at Luray Caverns or was that just for the episode? I'm guessing the latter, but you never know. By the way, I'm so glad that you're a member of this forum. I grew up watching Mr. Rogers and was very sad when he passed away. However, his legacy lives on.

I don't think she actually did. Fred tended to do this sometimes... a neighbor would pop up and explain that he/she either works there or is helping out for the day. They did this many times with Chuck Aber. Robert Trow was working at a bowling Alley in one episode. Audrey is a server at a restaurant on one show. Fred did this for a couple reasons. First, when he made a trip somewhere in the real world, he wanted to show that the neighbors we see also have "real jobs." Another reason he did this, he wanted the TV neighbor to see a familiar face in his outings.

I knew Bob didn't really work at the bowling alley. His son Eric told me that on Facebook.  :)
