Another which episode is this question?
« on: May 07, 2012, 11:20:33 AM »
Does anyone remember an episode where Lady Aberlin was singing a song to Robert Troll, which basically consisted of her repeatedly singing the line "Robert Troll"?  What episode is it?  Thanks.

Nobody remembers this episode?  Did I imagine it?

Could it have maybe been in the real neighborhood, and maybe she sang "Bob Trow" or "Robert Trow", rather than "Robert Troll"?  My vague recollection was that it was in the real neighbhorhood, although Robert Troll never appeared in the real neighborhood.  It is also possible that it wasn't Betty that was singing, but it was definitely a woman with a very soft and sweet voice (so I'm pretty sure it was Betty).

Was it maybe the same episode where Bob Trow draws pictures of all of the neighbors, and Fred says "I never realized you were such an artist"?

Since it's been a while, I wanted to revive this thread, to see if anyone has an answer.  Tim, is it an episode that you saw recently?

Are you not sure it was a pre-79 or modern episode?

This is the episode that you are looking for. It is from 157 aka 1027 1969. Takes place in the
neighborhood of make-believe.

Sorry, that's not it. 1027 last aired on Jan. 10, 1984, but the episode in question I saw later than that. But I wonder if maybe Lady Aberlin could have sang that song in more than one episode. I wonder when else. Where did you get 1027 anyway?

Its possible you saw 1969 episodes on your local PBS alittle later than when it was last schedule.
Did you listen to the soundclip in that link to see if thats precisely what you remembered?

I have seen most of the MRN episodes. This particular one has Lady Aberlin singing that song Robert Troll repeatedly. Even thou that was not mention in the archives notes. Otherwise the only thing that
comes to mind is a few PBS affliates sometimes had pre-79s schedule at a later date than what was
schedule on the broadcast nationwide. A friend of mine has seen 1386 Thru 1390 way back in
Jaunuary of 1996. Some other episodes from 1973 and 1974 during 1997-1998. Each PBS affliate
has its own way of handling what is schedule. Some showed MRN at differen't time slots one of
those had episodes that were differen't than what may be showing on other affiliates.

That clip is what I remember.  But the PBS station that I watched definitely aired the national schedule.  I have only the vaguest memories of the 1969 episodes, and I know for sure that my memory is not from a 1969 episode, and I know for sure that my memory is from later than Jan. 10, 1984.  There is nothing in that clip suggesting that it was from 157 / 1027, other than the caption that you wrote, so it's possible that you have the episode number wrong.  But more likely, that song was probably used in more than one episode, and I remember it from a later episode.  How do you have access to these episodes anyway?  Did you tape the episode when it last aired in 1984 and never taped over it?

I was trying to be helpful. It seems like you seem to be the human dictionary to the earlier yrs
of the neighborhood. I did not make a mistake with the episode, ask tim to view that episode
since you are quick to assume i am not a reliable source of intel. Unbelieveable!

If you read my post, you will see that I said most likely, even if the song was used in 157 / 1027, it was used again in a later episode, and my memory was from a later episode.
