Hey Tim...
Could you blow up that screen shot pic of the older NOM?  Perhaps a larger pic would allow us to better see the layout in the preMRN NET/PBS days.  That pic might uncover the clues as to what exactly changed in Episode 1.  Thanks!

What do you think that building is to the right of the tree?  The MGR? And the building to the right of the Tower?--the Clock?  Can't identify the factory.  But I see why everyone was commenting on the change in Week 1 episodes of MRN.  The Tower was changed for sure!  Thanks for blowing up the picture.

I assume the building to the right of the tree is the trolley barn

It looks like the building were in the following order:
The Castle, The Tower, Daniel's Clock, The Tree, and The Trolley Barn. Wonder when the barn was taken off the set? Anyone know?

Is that picture from "The Children's Corner" or the CBC series "MisteRogers"?

I think it's from CBC's production of MisteRogers, because Mister Rogers points out Handyman Negri in the picture.

Hmm, that's strange. In this clip of Misterogers (http://youtu.be/jBS2_3o9zHw) the NoMB is quite different. That picture actually looks like the later Children's Corner sets (see below). Then again, I've never heard of Joe Negri being on Children's Corner. Maybe they changed sets part way through Misterogers. I'd sure like to know exactly when Joe Negri came onto the scene...

If any one get's the chance to go to NY NY  or LA CA go to the Paley Center here is the website  http://www.paleycenter.org/
they have 3 MISTEROGERS from 1964 taped at Wqed  these Programs were only 10mins long and one has a  advertisement for King Friday XIII Celebrates in Misterogers neighborhood of make-believe LP at the end of the Program in fact Joe Negri is on one of those 3 Programs

The First one is called neighborhood Play
http://www.paleycenter.org/collection/item/?q=Misterogers&f=all&c=all&advanced=1&p=1&item=T81:0560
here is the second one I found called VIEWER DRAWINGS (this one casts Joe Negri)
http://www.paleycenter.org/collection/item/?q=Misterogers&f=all&c=all&advanced=1&p=1&item=T81:0559

Thanks, Paul, for the link.  I had forgotten that part of the Rogers documentary, "America's Favorite Neighbor."  I didn't see the tree in the clip.  But I still understand the the whole "Change" issue of MRN Week 1 because of the tower's location.

And Lawrence, thanks for the heads-up about the Paley Center.  I may be in LA later this summer; I'll have to check it out!

So, in other words, the 895 episodes that make up "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" are not the complete series because in that week called "Change" that you mentioned, they are "carrying things over" from the CBC series and changing them around?  Also, wasn't "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" only airing on WQED locally just in Pittsburgh for a short time before it went national in February 1968 because in the "America's Favorite Neighbor" DVD bonus features, there is a program called "Creative Person: Fred Rogers" and it shows a little boy watching a TV and there is a different intro to "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."  Thanks for the help!

Lance, the episode titles that you are talking about with the boy on the floor is the original Mister Rogers Neighborhood that ran on the Eastern Educational Network.  100 episodes were made that were broadcasted in Chicago, NY, and Boston.  In this article there is a pic of the original title logo:  http://www.pabook.libraries.psu.edu/palitmap/MisterRogersNeighborhood.html

So the order of shows that Fred did was:
Children's Corner, CBC Mister Rogers, Mister Rogers, Mister Rogers Neighborhood (EEN), then Mister Rogers Neighborhood '67-'76, '79-'01
