Neighborhood of Make Believe models
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:55:15 PM »
The models that Fred would use in his kitchen to do the NOMB segments always fascinated me as a child and still do today.  Does anyone know if these were salvaged after the end of the show?  They seemed to have been incredibly well-done.

Well, these models are on display at the Fred Rogers center.

They're actually inside the offices of the Fred Rogers Company.

Oh yeah. That's what I meant. Wait, I was there when they had the neighborhood of make believe set up, but I didn't see the models.

Wonder if Family Communications ever released toy models like the ones Mr. Rogers had? Growing up, I would have loved to have had a set of the neighborhood of make-believe and made up my own pretend stories!

Wow that's great that they've been preserved.  Even the track and tunnels around the castle, which from my recollection Fred only set up once in the kitchen.  I would guess it took extra time to get that part set up correctly.
