I love the opening to this as there is it is so different from the low-key openings to the Neighborhood programs. Seeing Mister Rogers come out to a live studio audience seems so odd.

Thank you so much for sharing this incredible program and glimpse beyond the neighborhood and into a new realm of Fred I've never seen before.

Does anyone have Mister Rogers Talks With Parents Special About Superheroes? Would beable to provide some high quality photo stills at the very least? Also if anyone happens to have 1977 Christmastime with Mister Rogers special? Would love to see some photo stills from that holiday special!

Thanks,

Lef ;D

That Old Friends, New Friends is an interesting program.  I think if Fred didn't look back on MRN after 1976 and went mainstream he probably could have put Phil Donahue to shame.

Degeneration X The Owl a memeber of this board did mention not too long ago. If you have no wish to use for commercial purposes, they may (for the price of CD, postage & labor) send you an episode you request. University of Pittsburgh Information Sciences Library....call David Frank 412 624 4712. I would
try asking for just those two specials. If you ask for too much, you may be turn down. Another option is
to just wait and see if amazon adds those. I couldn't really say how long it would take before those
are added to there site.

I may have to try to get in contact with David myself if in the event amazon does not add certain
neighborhood episodes. Due to old age dust and use of tapes, many episodes i have the volume on
them are either too low or distorted. I would want those particular episodes from ENR archives. Even
if it costs me more than what amazon is charging  ::) If anyone else has any ideas reguarding The
ENR please let us know.

I think I'm probably going to try contacting David soon myself.  I don't hold out much hope for Amazon.  The only thing I can figure is maybe they will add those 50 episodes right before the biggest online shopping day of the year (Monday after Thanksgiving).  Last year I think it was before Christmas when they released the episodes for streaming and DVD.  If you have to choose two episodes from University of Pittsburgh, which episodes would you guys pick?  I'm probably going to pick one regular episode and one opera.

Rats, thats not the answer I wanted to hear.  What was the reason?  I know I read the info on the Elizabeth Nesbitt room that the programs are on actual production tape not VHS.  Maybe they don't have the converter.
