Episode 1163
« on: May 21, 2017, 09:07:50 PM »
This was one of the shows where Twitch cut the introduction to Mister Rogers' entrance, but ever since Tim posted the caps on the site, I've been wondering about the opening to this one: it looks like they had to splice in a 1969 or 1970 opening into the beginning of the episode (I'd have to take a look at the NET building and stop sign to confirm which version). The first cap with the program number also looks like it was done much later than the rest of the rerun package.  I'm assuming the master tape got damaged or something like that.

That's strange.  If they had to splice a new opening for whatever reason, I wonder why they didn't use a 1971 opening.  At what point does this episode become "normal"?  Interestingly, that's an episode I remember seeing as a kid, but I don't remember the opening.
