It's too bad these were re-edited where we could see the NET logo.

What do you mean?

I'm curious to hear comments from people who had the chance to watch the early episodes.  Did episodes such as 9 and 21 appear to be re-shot, or the early versions?  Did 1014 have the cigar?  Any obvious edits in any episodes?  Any episodes skipped yet?  Any answers to any questions that we've been wondering about for years but Tim never answered?

Well the 1969 episodes probably had the NET logo at the end and what we're seeing are the edited version when they were revived.

This is the first time I've seen the mass of pre-1979 episodes and I'm nowhere near finished. Some aspects are a bit strange such as the make-believe neighborhood existing alongside the real one, but overall it's very good. Once they worked out the neighborhood's format, I think the show really began to hit its stride.

Keeping an eye on that lopsided NET building that pops up during the credits - I know this piece changed a few times to correspond with the end of NET.

Watching episode 1038, from the first of the "banned" 1969 weeks that got taken out of the rotation early.   Does anyone know if 1036-1037 aired?  The timing would seem to suggest that they did.

EDIT: Several people in chat said that 1036-1037 aired.   So did 1039-1040.  I guess that shoots down the "one episode from each banned week" theory.

Episode 1047 was skipped.   This is one of the ones where Tim was given an unedited pre-76 print.

I wonder if #1049 will be skipped...  that's also one that Tim reviewed based off a pre-1976 copy.

I don't know if 1049 aired, but I tuned back in just in time for the closing of 1050, and it was an unedited print with no trolley card and the NET logo ("the public television network" variant), which is consistent with Tim's recap.   I guess 1047 truly must have been missing or not in good enough condition to air, though then again some other episodes have had tracking issues.   I highly doubt it was a content-related ban, judging from the recap and the fact that it still aired into the '80s.

#1049 did, indeed, air on the stream today.

Curious to know if anyone can confirm how many episodes (and which episode numbers) have actually been skipped in the stream at this point (and potentially why)...

Also, did 37 have Mr. McFeely smoking?

What did the people in the chat say about 1036-1040?  Anything unusual about it?  Anything suggesting when it last aired or why it was banned?

That is really strange.  1047 can't be truly "lost" if Tim somehow has it.

Not sure if 1046-1050 aired into the 80s or not.  It did not air in 1983-84, but it could have aired earlier.

Can anybody who has the Plan and Play book confirm if 1046-1050 is in it?  Thanks.

Why is it that these episodes wouldn't be shown anyway? The 1969 episodes.
