Of course, there's King Friday and his bass guitar.
-
That is a bass violin TL!
Lady Elaine - Accordian
-
Ugh....good call.
That's what I get for typing faster than I think.
-
Dr. Platypus played the Bagpipes.
-
And Lady Elaine and her accordion!
-
I can think of two more...
-
Here's a hint:
Betty's wedding.
-
How about Harriett Cow and the organ.
-
Right.
Last hint: When Parents Go to Work
-
Prince Tuesday on Guitar. (We Royal Three)
-
That's right.
Can anybody think of any more?
-
Something jogged my memory about Gram-pare playing and instrument.
-
H.J. Elephant played the cymbals.
-
Heres a good trivia question....
What was Fred's Traffic Light originally used for?
-
I will guess - showing kids the meaning of: go stop go
-
Wasn't it a signal to answer the telecan or something like that?...
-
Paul gets the cookie, it was Fred Telecan. It flashes when someone in the NOMB calls. AKA use of audience participation the show was known for. :)
-
Another trivia......
How many operas made in the entire series had no puppets at all in them?
-
Spoon Mountain does not. Are there any others?
-
Which Puppets play musical instruments and what do they play?
Harriet cow plays the clarinet
-
Spoon Mountain does not. Are there any others?
Correct, it is the only one that does not have a single puppet
-
What is the name of Daniel Striped Tiger's imaginary friend?
-
Malcolm Apricot Dinko
-
Right :) What a name for an imaginary friend! Mr. Rogers was so creative.
-
There are worse. Hisher Boobtrunk.
-
Ha! I'd forgotten about Hisher, the ventriloquist dummy.
-
Keep in mind that Mister Rogers didn't come up with that one...
-
Which Puppets play musical instruments and what do they play?
Lady Elaine plays the oboe in 1614.
-
I've got one. Which make believe character was the first one to speak to the Trolley?
-
Paul gets the cookie, it was Fred Telecan. It flashes when someone in the NOMB calls. AKA use of audience participation the show was known for. :)
I don't ever remember the traffic light being used that way. In what episodes have you seen it used that way? Was it only in the 1968 and 1969 episodes?
-
Here is a good trivia question: What is the only year (since 1979) in which the Starting School week (Episodes 1461-1465) did not air? And what is the most likely reason why it did not air?
-
Here is a good trivia question: What is the only year (since 1979) in which the Starting School week (Episodes 1461-1465) did not air? And what is the most likely reason why it did not air?
I would have to say the summer of 1989. That was the yr the entire 1970 season had aired minus
1071-1075. I wonder if they knew by that time this was the last time reruns from that far back
would ever air again on PBS? I am guessing they did not want to interrupt weeks between the
1970 to break for 1979 episodes. To allow the 1970 season to air without any confusion to a
younger viewer. Also Josephine The Short Neck Giraffe had aired in May that same yr was the
debut. That had a school theme as well in that muscial story.

That is correct! Interestingly, the previous time that the 1970 season reran (in the summer of 1986), Starting School did air. But it aired in between 1120 and 1121, so it at least didn't interrupt the pregnancy plot. Though I wonder if maybe kids did still find it confusing for Tuesdan and Ana to go from infants to school age and back to infants again. Strangely, I don't remember it airing in 1986, even though I watched MRN regularly that summer. I wonder if maybe I was on vacation that week.

Here is another good trivia question: who is the first character in the series to sing the "You are pretty" song? And who does he or she sing it to?
-
Totally guessing here: Nurse Miller singing to Henrietta Pussycat?
-
Totally guessing here: Nurse Miller singing to Henrietta Pussycat?
Nope. Sorry.
By the way, after how many incorrect guesses should I give the correct answer?
-
Lady A singing to Henrietta?
I'd say wait a day or two before giving the answer.
-
Lady A singing to Henrietta?
I'd say wait a day or two before giving the answer.
That is not correct either. Sorry.
-
Since nobody has guessed correctly yet, I'm going to give a hint: its lyrics weren't exactly the same as the familiar version of that song, and its first word wasn't even "You".
-
To signal that someone from the NOMB wanted to talk to him.
-
Was it the tune when the traffic light went off?
-
Since nobody has answered correctly, I'll give the answer: it was Henrietta singing it to Lady Aberlin.
To explain further, it was in Episode 1088, from the 1970 season. Betty Aberlin visits Fred and gives him a black angel fish for his aquarium (she is also wearing black, but I don't know if there is any significance to that). In the NOM, Lady Aberlin dresses as a black angel fish, who swims around the world searching for owls and pussycats. X and Henrietta are afraid that the fish is going to eat them. But then the fish says that she doesn't eat owls and pussycats, but she kisses them. When she kisses X and Henrietta, they realize that it's Lady Aberlin. Henrietta then sings the "You are pretty song" to Lady Aberlin, but of course sings it with meows, "Meow meow pretty, meow meow black . . . " Lady Aberlin then points it out that she can sing the same song to her, and then sings the familiar version. X the Owl then points out that nobody has ever sang a song about how he is blue, so Lady Aberlin then sings a version of the song for X. Later in the episode, back at Fred's house, Fred sings that song to the black angel fish that Betty gave him. So, this episode uses 4 different versions of that song, and is first sung by Henrietta!

Another trivia question: What was the last episode ever to feature the Tomorrow song?
-
Episode 1260.
-
Episode 1260.
Sorry, that is not correct.
Hint: It is NOT a Friday episode. The last time Tomorrow was sang on a Friday was Episode 1130.
-
Another trivia question: What was the last episode ever to feature the Tomorrow song?
Since there are still no answers, I'll give another hint: it's an episode with a well known guest star.
-
Episode 1128.
-
Episode 1128.
No. It was much later than that.
Hint: Both David Newell and Betty Aberlin have said that they really liked this guest star, and the episodes that she was in.
-
Episode 1459.
-
Episode 1459.
That is correct! :)

I have a trivia question. In the conflict weeks' thursday episode, the Trolley plays a special tune before returning to Mister Rogers house. What's the name of that tune, and what were the lyrics it played?
-
I have a trivia question. In the conflict weeks' thursday episode, the Trolley plays a special tune before returning to Mister Rogers house. What's the name of that tune, and what were the lyrics it played?
Since it's been about a week and a half and nobody has even guessed, can you give us a hint?
-
It's part of a song that traditionally sung at football games, like The Super Bowl. If no one guesses one week from today, I'll give the answer and post a new question.
-
It's part of a song that traditionally sung at fotball games, like The Super Bowl. If no one guesses one week from today, I'll give the answer and post a new question.
Not sure if it's really a song, but my only guess would be "Are you ready for some football".
-

Actually, could it be the Star Spangled Banner?
-
I actually have a 3 part trivia question that we can do, in addition to the one already posted (if my answer is wrong).
1. Who helped Fred install the aquarium?
2. Who helped Fred paint the walls blue?
3. Who helped Fred paint another, rarely seen room?
All 3 of them are well known cast members, not obscure guest stars.
-
mitsguy2001, you got half the trivia question correct. The Trolley did play a part of the Star Spangled Banner, but you also have to give me the lyrics to the part the Trolley played.
-

I'm guessing "Oh say can you see". Honestly, that's an impossible question for anyone who doesn't have a tape of that episode.
-
Hmm good point. Well, actually the lyrics were "And The Rocket's Red Glare, The Bomb's Bursting In Air..." BTW, I don't have that episode on tape, but I remember watching it when it was on YouTube.
-
Sounds like it's time for my 3 part question. Anyone want to answer?
1. Who helped Fred install the aquarium?
2. Who helped Fred paint the walls blue?
3. Who helped Fred paint another, rarely seen room?
All 3 of them are well known cast members, not obscure guest stars.
-
Nobody wants to take a guess on my 3 part question?
-
Honestly, I can oly answer question number 2. Bob Trow and Fred Rogers worked together to make the Television House walls blue. The other two were probably from before my time.
-
Honestly, I can oly answer question number 2. Bob Trow and Fred Rogers worked together to make the Television House walls blue. The other two were probably from before my time.
You are correct on Part 2. You should be able to do Part 3, since that was from a later episode than where the walls were painted blue. Part 1 was before your time.
-
I just saw episode 1326 when it was on YouTube. I never saw it on Television.
-
Since #2 has already been answered correctly, I'll give some hints for #1 and #3.
First of all, the answers to both of those questions are people who are still alive.
#1 was from a black and white episode. And it was a character who remained until the end of the series. So, think of which characters were in the black and white episodes and remained until the end.
#3 was from a late pre-79 episode. And the answer is someone who enjoys painting in real life.
Neither of them were in the EEN episodes. They were both characters who had their debut during the first week of black and white episodes that aired nationally on NET.
-
I'm just guessing here.
1. Mr. McFeely
2. Betty Aberlin
-
I'm just guessing here.
1. Mr. McFeely
2. Betty Aberlin
That is correct! I assume you intended Betty for #3, not #2 (#2 was already correctly answered as Bob Trow).
In case you were wondering: the room that Betty paints is the garage where Fred shows clips of old episodes. The episode is 1457.
The episode where Mr. McFeely helps Fred set up the aquarium is 87.

Cool. OK, here's another question. How many fires occured in the Neighborhood of Make Believe? (Include location, and episode number)
-
Cool. OK, here's another question. How many fires occured in the Neighborhood of Make Believe? (Include location, and episode number)
I am aware of 3 fires:
Corny's Factory (Episode 63)
Henrietta's house (Episode 1353)
Platypus Mound (Episode 1744)
-
You are correct. I do believe those were the only fires from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
-
New Question: Name the order in which Mister Rogers got the Neighborhood of Make Believe Models.
-
New Question: Name the order in which Mister Rogers got the Neighborhood of Make Believe Models.
I just got back from vacation today, so sorry I didn't respond earlier. The order was:
Clock (beginning of Episode 1066), castle (later in 1066), tree (1067), museum go ground (1068), platypus mound (1069), factory (1070), Eiffel tower (allegedly 1080).
-
Nice, but you missed one.
-
Nice, but you missed one.
I assume you are referring to the trolley, which he got later than any of the others I listed. So, it was:
Clock, castle, tree, musuem go round, platypus mound, factory, Eiffel tower, trolley.
-
Smart. According to a few websites, in episode 1106, Bob Trow made a little set of trolley tracks, and a trolley for Mister Rogers.
-
Here's on that will be coming up in a future character page:
What puppet is voiced by Betty Aberlin?
-
Here's on that will be coming up in a future character page:
What puppet is voiced by Betty Aberlin?
Patti Bacardi, from Episode 1476 (Monday episode of Divorce week).
-
Here's another question from Divorce week, what did Mister Rogers do during the opening of friday's program he usually doesn't do, and why?
-
Here is a true or false question
On several occasions, the famous Rocky fanfare was used for King Friday. T or F?
-
False?
-
False?
Nope, it is true. Bill Conti (composer for the Rocky movies scores) is a Pittsburgh native.
-
Which episodes was it used in Degeneration?
-
Was it used during Music Week, in 1549, when we saw King Friday's trumpeters? I know when Fred went to see the Empire Brass Quintet in that episode, and they played the song that the Rocky fanfare comes from.
-
RF82 is right on that as well, but there were several occasions in the pre '79 era that King Friday did come out to it.
-
What did Fred Rogers give astronaut Al Worden before Al went to the moon?
-
was it the list of their questions including "how do you go to the bathroom?" ?
-
No fair, Betty. You were on the show. LOL (she is right) If my memory serves me correctly, it was rare occasion that Fred is shown using a standard mic instead of a radio mic/boom mic on the show.
-
I have a trivia question:
Before The Neighborhood of Make Believe went through it's big change in episode 0001, how was the Neighborhood layed out?
-
Here's another question from Divorce week, what did Mister Rogers do during the opening of friday's program he usually doesn't do, and why?
He kept looking around for Mr. McFeely expecting him to arrive. He was supposed to deliver a clown mask.
-
-
I've got a good one: can anyone think of a post-75 episode that shares the same episode number as a famous early episode of Sesame Street?
I'll give you a hint: the (MRN) episode is from the 1986-1987 season.
-
Is it 1575?
-
Is it 1575?
Yes, you got it. Guess it wasn't as good as i thought. I remember SS 1575, i believe that was the episode where Mr. Rogers visited. MRN's 1575 was Friday of the Dance week.
-
I have one. Betty Aberlin has danced a few times on Mister Rogers. Name the different types of dances she has done.
-
I have one. Betty Aberlin has danced a few times on Mister Rogers. Name the different types of dances she has done.
I wasn't aware of any named dances that she does.
-
I meant the different types of dances she does in the show. What were they?
-
I meant the different types of dances she does in the show. What were they?
Obviously nobody knows the answer, and it seems that to know every dance she has ever performed, you would need to have watched every episode, which probably nobody (not even Tim, yet) has done. Can you give us a hint? Or tell us the answer and we can move on to the next question. :)
-
Well the only one I know of was tap and ballet. But here is a new question, what job was Lady Aberlin given on episode 1626?

Here is the next question:
What popular singer released, in 2013, all of the following:
1. A song that includes (in the actual song, not the title) the title of one of Fred's songs.
2. A lyric video that includes an animal that is of the same species as an MRN puppet.
3. A music video that includes an animal that is of the same species as an MRN puppet.
4. Another music video that includes a different animal that is also of the same species as an MRN puppet.
Note that #2, 3, and 4 are all referring to different animals, and that none of them are referring to the song in #1 (although #2 and #3 can be from the same song, #4 obviously is not).
-

Ok, I'll give some hints:
Fred's song mentioned in #1 was used in a frequently discussed episode that had its last airing during the summer of 1990 (that was not the only time that song was used, nor the only time). And when that episode first aired, Betty was the same age that the singer I'm referring to currently is. (that should help limit it, even if you don't know the exact episode I'm talking about).
The puppets mentioned in #2, #3, and #4 all reprised their roles, as adults, on DTN, and have a child or other relative who has a prominent role on DTN.
-
Anyone want to guess, or should I just give the answer if everyone has given up?
Another hint: the song referred to in #1 (the song by the answer to the question, not Fred's song) has the same last word as one of Fred's songs that was not used after the 1968 season. The song in #2 and #3 has a title that was mentioned by the puppet referred to as #3, but he (another hint) rarely used that word.
-
I'm just guessing, One Direction?
-
I'm just guessing, One Direction?
Sorry, that is not correct.
-
As another hint: I realized that I posted about part #1 in another post of mine. So if you search my post history (you don't even have to go that far back), you can find it. If you figure out #1 and know the answer to the question, you should then also be able to figure out #2, #3, and #4, since there aren't that many MRN animal puppets that reprise their role in DTN. Plus, as for #3, if you think of the well-known animal puppets in MRN, and think of songs from 2013, what comes to mind?
-
I'll give it another week, and if nobody wants to answer, I'll give you the answer.

I had forgotten about this trivia question, and since it seems nobody wants to try to answer, I'll give the answer.
The artist is Katy Perry.
For Part 1, the Katy Perry song I'm referring to is "By the Grace of God". It includes the line "The Truth Will Set You Free", which is the title of an MRN song.
For Part 2, I'm referring to the lyric video for "Roar", where at the end of the video, it has her cat, Kitty Purry
For Part 3, I'm referring to the music video for "Roar", which has a tiger.
For Part 4, I'm referring to the music video for "Unconditionally", which has an owl.
I wonder if Katy Perry was an MRN fan when she was a kid! I could picture her being a fan of the show.
-
Well, I have a question not about the Neighborhood program per se, but having to do with it.
A YouTube user called TheAsianCriticChick has done a review of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Give me the episodes used in the review, what she had said after watching it once, and what she had to say at the end of the video.
