Title: An appreciation for Fred and Johnny Costa's music
Post by: PaulKTF on May 27, 2015, 08:23:43 AM
Even as an adult (especially as an adult!) I really love both Fred and Johnny Costa's music. Johnny's Jazz was the first Jazz I ever heard as a child and I found it to be just as engaging as Fred's songs. :)

I have a few of Johnny's CDs and the four MRN CDs that are available via The Fred Rogers' company website. .

His songs are unbelievably deep for having been originated on a children's program.  Creation Duet, The Truth Will Make Me Free, What Do You Do, and It's You I Like are some of my favorites, which have a lot of truth embedded in them for all people, not just children.

We've had You're Growing and You Are Special on CD for the last month, and I just placed an order on WQED (less expensive than FRC) for the other 2 CDs.  I see that a couple of Johnny Costa albums are on iTunes - I might get those, but I'd like to hear his Christmas and Neighborhood albums too.
