THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood iPhone App

DATE: 2012
PUBLISHER: PBS Kids / Fred Rogers Company

Description

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood debuted in September 2012 and PBSKids and the Fred Rogers Company put together an iPhone/iPad/iPod app just in time for the premiere. The app has four main sections (as described on the app itself).

Doctor
Play Doctor Daniel with the instruments that doctors use. When children play about being the doctor, they're in charge. That can make it easier to manage when they have to be the patient.

Bedtime
Help Daniel get ready to sleep -- and your children can be thinking about their own bedtime routines and the things that help them at bedtime.

In Daniel's Bathroom
Wash, brush and flush with Daniel and play about the practice of bathroom routines.

Sticker Book
Children can have fun making up their own stories as they play with dozens of stickers Daniel's house and neighborhood.

Updates

In the early summer of 2013, a few significant updates were made to this applications including a small musical note in the bottom of the main screen which plays songs from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood when touched. Additionally, a fifth main feature to the application was also added.

Music & Feelings
Children can use various instruments as they express feelings such as happiness, sadness, and anger.
