THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers

Allergies at School

Episode 303
Title Daniel's Allergy
Allergies at School
Air Date September 7, 2016

Daniel Tiger is heading to his 100th day of school and is excited to join his classmates for a picnic to celebrate. He contributes by bringing a basket of banana bread muffins.

Upon arriving at school, Teacher Harriet is thankful to know about Daniel's allergy and appreciates the fact that he knows the food rules and boundaries necessary to keep himself safe.

Joining his friends in the play kitchen, Daniel finds bowls filled with oranges -- 100 oranges to mark 100 days of school. Daniel make-believes that he is in a "orange world."

Prince Wednesday tries to order green foods in Katerina's pretend orange restaurant -- a joke enjoyed by Daniel and his friends. Serving a plate of various (pretend) orange foods, Daniel declines the peaches and explains his allergy to Katerina and the others.

After O the Owl shows Daniel a tower he built using 100 blocks, Prince Wednesday accidentally knocks it down as everyone is gathering their snacks. When his glasses fall off, Daniel helps to find them. Everyone works together to pick up the blocks before going outside to enjoy their 100th day celebration.
