THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers

Prince Wednesday Doesn't Want To Play

Episode 206
Title Daniel's Friends Say No
Prince Wednesday Doesn't Want to Play
Air Date November 17, 2014

Daniel Tiger and his family are at the park for a picnic when he sees Prince Wednesday and Prince Tuesday putting together a model airplane. When he asks if he can join them, Daniel is disappointed when Prince Wednesday says he would rather spend time alone with his brother.

Returning to his family, Daniel is sad and reminded by his Dad that he could find something else to do. When he realizes how much his baby sister likes his car, Daniel enjoys some time playing with Margaret and his parents.

Daniel make-believes that he and Margaret are race car drivers.

O the Owl is at the park, as well. He, too, is disappointed when he asks to play with Prince Wednesday. Daniel explains to him that he was able to find something else fun to do and encourages O to do the same. O joins Daniel and Margaret as they continue playing cars.

Prince Wednesday invites Daniel and O to join him for some "friends time."

Strategy

  • "When a friend doesn't want to play with you, you can find something else to do."
