THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARCHIVE - All Things Mister Rogers

A Trip to the Crayon Factory

Episode 109
Title A Trip to the Enchanted Garden
A Trip to the Crayon Factory
Air Date September 12, 2012

Daniel Tiger is drawing pictures with crayons before going with Dad Tiger to visit the Neighborhood of Make-Believe Factory where Crayons are being made. They stop along the way to pick up Katerina Kittycat and O the Owl -- but O is sick and cannot go along. At Daniel's suggestions, Dad Tiger agrees to take pictures of the factory for O.

At the factory, colorful Crayons are everywhere. Daniel make-believes that the Crayons are singing before Lady Elaine Fairchilde beings a tour of the factory. Lady Elaine describes how Crayons are made and as the children ask questions, she encourages them to look closely to find out what they want to know.

After the tour of the factory, Daniel and Dad Tiger stop by the tree where they share their photos with O and give him a yellow Crayon from the factory. Everyone sings a song about learning new things by looking closely.
